Branch activity takes place both within UNISON itself, and the workplace.
Within Severn Trent, our workplace stewards are talking to members to see what is working well, and what is causing concerns. This covers both general workplace matters, and health and safety related issues. We can take concerns directly to management and seek resolution of the issue either locally, regionally or nationally.
Individual – advising or representing members with capability, grievance and disciplinary matters. If we can, we will try sort it informally.
Collective– raising issues with line management, at an appropriate level (locally or regional) depending on the issue. Our terms and conditions are negotiated at Company level.
We also have Union Learning Reps who are there to raise the profile of learning, inside and outside of work.
We encourage members to become active within UNISON itself, by representing the branch at seminars and conferences (National Delegate, Water, Environment and Transport, Womans, Equalities, and at West Midlands Region)
